Working in partnership with a number of local schools, Warren Dell Primary is a Lead School for the School Direct route into teacher training. Some of the schools included in our alliance are Bromet Primary School, Oxhey Wood Primary School, Central Primary School and Colnbrook School. Trainees would be placed in one of these schools for their training year.
We are looking for well-qualified applicants to train as teachers through the School Direct (salaried) Programme for September 2021. The University of Hertfordshire offers School Direct (salaried) in the primary phase, which includes recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Schools employ trainees during their training period as unqualified teachers.

THE INTERVIEW PROCESS:
When you receive an invitation for an interview, read it very carefully so you know exactly what to expect. Most interviews will take place over a full day – although some could take as little as an hour – and they can include some, if not all, of the following:
- a review of personal documentation including examination certificates
- a 20 minute lesson observation with a group of children
- a group task or discussion (e.g. discussion on current educational issues)
- an individual interview, which could be one-to-one or with a panel
- a written task, or tasks, which could involve a literacy test and/or subject-based test
