This term, Year 5’s topic is Pharaohs. We will be looking in depth at the Ancient Egyptian History and their timeline. We will delve into the afterlife in Ancient Egypt, the pyramids and the importance of River Nile. In line with our topic, for Art, we will design and create an Egyptian mythical creature out of clay. In Science, our topic is ‘Forces’. We will learn about the force of gravity and explore air and water resistance and will learn to recognise some mechanisms including levers, pulleys and gears.

This term, our class book is The Wreck of the Zanzibar by Michael Morpurgo.
