Spring Homework Projects

Children worked very hard on their Spring Term homework projects but didn't have a chance to share them with their class so we will be putting them here for everyone to see.

Happy Friday reception!

Today we would like you to watch a film with your family. Once you have finished watching the film have a go at writing your own ‘film review’ just like we do in school about our reading books instead of films.

Write the title of the film.

How many stars would you give the film out of 5?

Colour them in to show how many.

Who is your favourite character in the film?

Write a sentence to explain your favourite part.

*I have attached some Easter themed worksheets if you are able to print them off at home to complete. If not, we will be sending home more learning packs in the post for the Easter holidays.

Thank you for the all the fantastic animal habitat boxes some of you managed to get in to school before school closed. These will be uploaded on to our class website page for all to see so the children’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. If you have not finished your animal box projects, then please carry on with these and email us a photo when they are completed.

As it would have been our last day of term today, we will also send home an overview of our topic and what we ‘would have been learning’ for next half term.

Please remember to continue your daily learning when possible:

• read once each day • practice your phonics every day so that you do not forget your sounds – use phonicsplay.co.uk and the jolly phonics songs on youtube

• try and write something every day

• practise forming your numbers correctly and don’t forget to count everything you see!

We have started a Gallery on the website for you to show your classmates what you have been doing in this time apart. It can be accessed from the Children tab on the website. Thank you for all of the photos and emails we have received so far. We really enjoy seeing what you have been doing at home.

Remember to look every day for new photos if you can and send any photos to us rhunt@warrendell.herts.sch.uk and kclarke@warrendell.herts.sch.uk or msouth@warrendell.herts.sch.uk

Remember to check out the Home Learning page too.

We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday and enjoy the break as much as possible whilst staying at home. Make sure you eat a chocolate egg for us!

Stay safe and well.

Mrs Hunt and Miss Clarke

Curriculum information can be accessed here:

Our topic this half term is Why do spiders eat flies? and Are eggs alive?

We will be learning all about different types of animals and their features. We will look at life cycles of varied animals and recognise animal habitats. We will be naming baby animals. The children currently have a zoo and vet role play area within the classroom to support their learning.

Reception will be going to a farm this half term which will be lots of fun!

Last half term our topic was 'How does that building stay up?'

We were learning about different types of buildings, famous buildings around the world and recognising parts of buildings. The children designed and created their own structures using different resources. Our role play area was a construction site where the children acted in the role of the builder. Our learning was also linked to 'The three little pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff'.

Rowan class have enjoyed exploring activities linked to Chinese New Year. They especially enjoyed making and eating vegetable noodles!
